This prayer was inspired by years of frustration being exposed to youth sports. The author wanted a prayer the kids could rely on to bring perspective to youth competition. This prayer addresses both sides of competition (winning and losing).

Competition is a critical part of the human experience and as a rule
parents are not good role models. It is the author’s belief, both winning and losing is inevitable so youth sports can be used to positively teach kids how to handle both with the same gracefulness.

 

Like most things in life it does not come naturally. It takes thoughtfulness, practice and perspective. We hope this
prayer is the first step in that direction.
